Why I am a good match for your startup

This page is essentially my cover letter for startups. Here I answer the question, why am I a good match for your startup?
In short, it’s because I’ve been working for startups most of my career and I have great experience in it. Due to that experience, I’m confident I can contribute to your startup. Not only by coding, but also by participating in product research, design processes, customer support, business decisions, and more. My approach is interdisciplinary and that’s why I feel so good in the startup world. I love to wear many hats in a crazy startup environment!
Just recently, I worked for almost 3.5 years for a startup (I joined them a month after the creation date) for which I and my team built an Android app from scratch. We learned a lot and now I can bring that knowledge to another project. This knowledge involves:
- early ideation with the design and business team
- technical and business research
- fast prototyping
- actively listening to customers and responding to their needs
- designing the app in a way so that it’s scalable and maintainable long term
- designing backend APIs
- growing with an mobile team of just 4 people (2 Android, 2 iOS) to over 10
- and more :)
Not only have I worked for others but I’ve also had my fair share of attempts to bootstrap my own startups (see Side Projects section). In the end, I’ve never succeeded, but I’ve learned a ton about not only programming but also building a team, marketing, business research, legal, and customer support (coding is actually the easy part).
Additionally, I’ve been working remotely for over 4 years – way before COVID made it a norm, so I’m well accustomed to this type of work. I know how to cooperate with others and be productive in this type of environment.
I learn and adapt fast. I can do extensive research about technical and business issues in order to find the best solutions for any given task. I also have some knowledge about UI/UX, so I’m always willing to participate in discussions with the design team.
